LIFE DRAWS AT SONICA

a conceptual framework for performance, active observation and its benefits to the mind- a public and practice based exploration within consciously created circumstance:

Piotr Bockowski  – Anastasia Freygang

with sound by Cao and Paul Jones

Taking the principle of a life drawing class where observation leads to interpretation this format induces expanding space for concentration. By allowing time for the viewer to absorb the given expression of the performers it is the act of drawing that marks the inter-exchange between audience and artist.

First set by Piotr Bockowski with music by Cao for an act of beheading, composed of a series of compulsive gestures triggered by the sonic exorcism of CAO. She incarnates an ancient peruvian pre-Incan pre colonial empress performing musical human sacrifice on Piotr Bockowski extending his body into a neurotic pyramid

Second set by Paul jones in collaboration with Anastasia Freygang playing layers of electronica to guitar and samples of spoken word. The performance is dealing with self exposure, musing on human presence in poems and conversation. playing your brain

A living tableaux with a mind on its own where performers share their practice for the benefit of activating exchange and learning in communally attended sessions
